Broiler farming has been a key part of the business for a long time we specialise in growing pullets and cockerels for different markets. They are grown on 18 sites across the UK, from the West Midlands to East Anglia.
Our birds are fed on a compound feed to supply all required nutrients for a healthy and balanced diet mainly consisting of soya and wheat.
All of our birds are grown under strict codes of practice and are audited annually in accordance with the British Assured Chicken Standards assessed by CMi Plc. All of the farms are high health status farms with strict biosecurity measures to ensure maximum healthy output from each farm.
We have recently changed our whole rearing system moving from direct gas heating in the houses, to using biomass boilers to heat hot water transferred through radiators in the houses. This substantial upgrade provides an indirect heat without carbon dioxide and water vapour, creating better growing conditions for the chickens. We have subsequently reduced our costs dramatically through eliminating the need for fossil fuels, providing a drastic reduction to our carbon footprint and therefore translating this into better feed conversion.
