Spring into action

After a frosty start to the year, Spring has brought some welcome sunshine to warm things up on the farm. We have been busy cultivating our crops and the first fruits are coming along nicely.  We have had great success using our tabletop growing systems and polytunnels. These innovative systems enable us to nurture our strawberry plants all year round. The tables also improve working conditions for our teams who do not need to bend down when tending to the plants or picking produce.

Alongside supplying soft fruit, E C Drummond also has an extensive arable farming area. Potato planting is well underway and we eagerly await a bumper crop this summer. Our dedicated teams have been drilling, planting and analysing soil to give our crops the very best start.

Preparing for picking

We wouldn’t be able to deliver premium produce year in year out without the incredible teams of people that we work with. We believe that by investing in our staff, they will invest in our mission to supply outstanding soft fruit and arable produce. We rely upon a large team of seasonal workers to support our full-time employees in the busy planting and picking months.

Thanks to innovative farming methods the farming calendar now stretches right through the year. This means that we are constantly on the lookout for new team members and seasonal workers to come on board. If you are looking for seasonal work then check out the information on our website.

Seasonal accommodation upgrades

This spring we have upgraded our existing staff accommodation to include brand new caravans. With picking season almost upon us, the campsite is ready to welcome our seasonal workers in the coming months. We can accommodate up to 350 employees on our site, and we pride ourselves on taking care of the people that work for us. We hope that the new caravans and improved living areas will enhance the experience of our hard-working seasonal staff this summer.
