Broiler Poultry

|
Broiler hens are grown in five poultry units in the counties
of Herefordshire Worcestershire and Warwickshire each with a responsible Manager.
|
|
|
|
We work closely with Faccenda Ltd which has processing facilities
in Northamptonshire and Wiltshire. Faccenda suppply all of our chicks and their
feed. We supply housing, heat, light and management.
|
|
|
We grow our chicks on a 6 weeks cycle with one week empty
for cleansing. Prior to restocking we transport the chicks from the hatcheries
direct to the farm and place them in units with clean bedding, supplementary
feed and water.
|
|
|
When our birds leave the unit after 41 days they will have
grown to a target weight of ± 2.3 kg in weight. Our birds are fed on our
own wheat with an added soya bean mix with four different diets fed to the birds
during their lifetime.
|
|
|
|
All of our birds are grown under strict codes of practice
and are audited annually in accordance with the British
Assured Chicken Standards assessed by CMi
Plc. Should any of our birds become ill, we work closely with our vets and
we do not treat any ailments without strict veterinarian supervision. |
